Ministerio Hispano Ignaciano Holds Three Retreats in Early April

Recently, OIS’s Hispanic Minstry team (Ministerio Hispano Ignaciano, MHI) led a Escuchando a Dios como Ignacio Retreat. Fourteen people from the northeast participated in this Ignatian Spanish-language Silent Retreat which ewas led by Sindy Collazo and Fr. Jack Fagan, SJ, members of MHI.

This March, we celebrate “Women’s History Month” worldwide. OIS’s Ministerio Hispano Ignaciano continues the series began last year, Mujeres Ignacianas que nos Inspiran (Ignatian Women Who Inspire Us) recognizing Ignatian women who inspire us through their example and dedication.

Recently, more than 40 members of the local Hispanic community gathered at the Parish of St. Anne in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This was a collaboration with the Knights of Columbus from St. Anne Parish of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri.

I remember how I braced myself for a critique when I first began supervision. However, I experienced tremendous support and was encouraged to pay closer attention to what was stirring in me as I listened to my pilgrims’ experiences. Read more.

There are mixed feelings today among spiritual directors about supervision. Some welcome it, embrace it and consider it integral to their spiritual direction ministry. Others have never tried it and find themselves reluctant to do so. Some had a negative experience of supervision and turned away from it.
